-FIGHT RIGHT- 9/1/24 susan allen *Eph 6:10-KJV Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord [Amp-be empowered through your union with Him), and in the power (vigor) of his might. (Ability, strength, power) *11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against (preposition of direction- forward)  the wiles (schemes, trickery)  of the devil. (Oppose, resist, set against) *12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. *13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand (stand against, oppose resist) in the evil day (annoyances, hardship, harmful), and having done all (prepared to stand), to stand. *14 Stand STAND is a position of victory, stand against is a forward direction, not backing down, it is an upright active position   * therefore, having your loins (procreative power) girt (fastened on) about with truth, 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.   *and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (justification) Rom 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.   * 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Niv- fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.     *16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.   1 John 5:4- AMP For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?     *17 And take the helmet of salvation, 1 Thess 5:5- Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath,  but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.   *and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Rev 1:16 kjv  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.   *18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;   1 Peter 5:8-kjv  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. AMP- Withstand him; be firm in faith against his onset — rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined   1 Tim 6:11-KJV 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    ABIDING part 6 The Fruit is a BIG Deal 8/18/24 susan allen Today FOCUS ON the FRUIT in John 15 John 15:1-12 NKJV notes have been added in ( )  "I am the true vine, (if there is a true vine there are false vines) and My Father is the vinedresser. (Gardener, husbandman-God doesn’t mind the process, this is not an angry process) 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (the purpose of pruning is more fruit)  3 (NOW-kjv) You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. (Eph 5:26 we are cleansed by the Word) 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. (REMAIN) As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  6 If anyone does not abide in Me, (disconnects) he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (read in the Passion Translation) 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (This is abiding FAITH)  8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. 9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. 11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.  (Fruit of the Spirit Gal 5: love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance) ------PRAY: Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit REMOVE IT; and every branch that bears fruit in me,  PRUNE IT , that I may bear more fruit.-------   Gen 1:11-TLB   And he said, "Let the earth burst forth with every sort of grass and seed-bearing plant, and fruit trees with seeds inside the fruit, so that these seeds will produce the kinds of plants and fruits they came from." And so it was, and God was pleased. Gen 3:1-KJV  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. --WITH THE FRUIT CAME THE SEEDS. SEED will produce after LIKE KIND. 1 Peter 1:22-ESV  Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God   Gal 5:16-NIV  So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. 19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
    1. Fruits encase seed-protecting it from unfavorable conditions
    2. Fruits disperse seeds away from the parent plant
    (seeds that the fruit produces spread the plants genetic material over a wider area)
    1. Fruit supplies nutrients to developing seeds giving energy for germination-growth
    2. Fruit stores energy that help the plant itself grow and develop

As we read from Psalm 91 -ONLY with our EYES will we see the reward of the wicked BECAUSE we have made the LORD our refuge and our habitation! God has ALWAYS brought the people who trusted in Him through perilous times   water systems: EX 15 and the bitter water of Marah made sweet Food shortages: Ex 16 quail and manna, feeding 5000+ Matt 14  1 Kings 17 “Limited” income: 1 kings 17 –God’s method of giving and receiving Economic crises. Creditors calling: 2 Kings 4 the prophet Elisha asks WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN THE HOUSE and she said NOTHING BUT….a pot of oil GOD gave her instruction for provision through the prophet and God blessed her obedience.  SHE PAID her DEBT and she and her children LIVED off of the rest. Health crisis, pandemics, animal pox: PS 91 no evil shall befall you nor any plague come near your dwelling. Ex 12 the blood is on the doorpost and it will pass by you if you abide and remain IN HIM. Matt Mark Luke John Acts…the healings of the new Testament War/attacks/disturbances: Ps 27:1-6 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.   Crooked Tax system: Matt 17 Jesus pays His taxes and Peters by the coin in a fish’s mouth                 Attack the grid: Ex 13:21 pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire to give them light by night Natural disasters: Ps46 says we will not fear though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters roar and be troubled thought the mountains shake Persecution: 2 Cor 4:6 kjv  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed Rom 8:31-NIV What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:"For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The world does not need us in a weakened- compromised state IT is the TRUTH that sets us FREE (John 8:31 kjv  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.)  (1 John 2:20-niv  But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.  21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist — he denies the Father and the Son. )   What weakens and compromises us? When we tap into other sources Bc if you weaken truth, it is no longer the truth! It is deception. Trap. Not freedom.     WE NEED TO LOVE EACH OTHER ENOUGH TO REMAIN in the TRUTH John 15:12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.  14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.  15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.  16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.  17 These things I command you, that you love one another. 18 "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.  19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.  20 Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.  21 But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.  22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.  23 He who hates Me hates My Father also.  24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.  25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.' 26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.  27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. chpt 16:1 "These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.   ? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!" 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel.     The FEAR of the LORD is to:______ 6/9/24 susan allen   * the Fear of the Lord is clean-pure and endures forever…. We found it to be a TRUTH in both the Old Covenant and the NEW *That the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge, & instruction *Last we week we learned that it is a sensitiveness towards the LORD/WORD. TO HAVE a real sense and awareness of His being and presence TODAY: Prov 8:12 KJV  I wisdom dwell with prudence (good judgement) , and find out knowledge of witty inventions (good discretion) .13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.   HATE: to hate, to be an enemy to EVIL: bad, unpleasing (hold place in Prov 8) Rom 12:9-NIV Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Job 28:20-NKJV "From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? 21 It is hidden from the eyes of all living, And concealed from the birds of the air. 22 Destruction and Death say, 'We have heard a report about it with our ears.' 23 God understands its way, And He knows its place. 24 For He looks to the ends of the earth, And sees under the whole heavens, 25 To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure. 26 When He made a law for the rain, And a path for the thunderbolt, 27 Then He saw wisdom and declared it; He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out. 28 And to man He said,'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.'" DEPART---avoid, remove, turn aside from, come to an end, and decline a WRONG WAY sign!     Understanding the FEAR OF THE LORD 6/2/24 susan allen   NOT EVEN LOVE WILL MAKE GOD COMPROMISE HIS HOLINESS Heb 12:28-nkjv Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. NT:2124 Godly fear from VINE’S: "that mingled fear and love which, combined, constitute the piety of man toward God; the OT places its emphasis on the fear, the NT... on the love, though there was love in the fear of God's saints then, as there must be fear in their love now"   IT doesn’t make us want to HIDE, but IT makes us want to be exposed to the Holy Loving God It’s HOLY FEAR Ps 34:1-KJV  I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.        
    1. THE FEAR OF THE LORD… there are strange conjunctions in the Word of God which make this interpretation impossible. What an amazing companionship is to be found in these words: -- "Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice! .... The fear of the Lord" is sensitiveness towards the Lord. It is the opposite of hardness, unfeelingness, benumbment. The soul that fears God is like a sensitive plate exposed to the light, and it records the faintest ray. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Sensitiveness towards God is the beginning of wisdom. Sensitiveness in music is the beginning of musical ability; sensitiveness in art is the beginning of artistic competence. Sensitiveness towards .God is the beginning of expertness in the knowledge and doings of God. This sensitiveness towards God is one of the roots of the blessed life. To thrill to His faintest breathings, to hear the still small voice, to catch the first dim light of new revelations, to be exquisitely responsive to the movements of the Father, this is the great primary rootage of a full and blessed life. This sensitiveness towards God is a gift of God. "I will put My fear in their hearts." Jer 32:40
    In order to fear the Lord we must have a real sense of His being and presence. But God can only effectually teach this. But, relying on Him, we should early wish to teach our children their dependence upon God, their responsibility to Him, the duty of prayer, the preciousness of the Scriptures, the sanctity of the Lord's Day.If the teaching of the fear of the Lord be omitted, there had better be no teaching at all. To improve the intellectual capacities without improving the heart and principles will be doing no kindness to those taught or to society at large. (from The Biblical Illustrator Copyright)   What would it be like if I became GOD AWARE, GOD SENSITIVE, GOD PRESENT MINDED?   Prov 10:27 The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.   Prov 14:26-27 He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. 27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.   Ps 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.   Prov 15:33 The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.   Prov 16:6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil.   Prov 22:4 Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life.   Prov 19:23 The fear of the Lord leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.   Mal 3:16- Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name. 17 "They will be mine," says the Lord Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. 18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.

Where Do I Need To GROW UP? Part 7 Baptism- Fertile Ground for Growth 2/18/24 Verses used parts 1-5::1 Peter 2:1-5, Rom 12:1-3, Heb 5:11-14, Heb 6:1-3, 1 Cor 3:1-4, Eph 4:7-24, Romans 8:1-14, Eph 5:8-17, Prov 10:17,12:1, 13:18,15:31-33, 1 Cor 13:9, Ps 40:8, Romans 10:14-17, James 1:22, Col 1:24-chp2:6, Matt 28:18-20, Titus 2:1-8   Titus 3:3-ESV  For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.    * washing ^immersion, bath, laver, water basin,    **regeneration^ new birth, into new life   We get baptized per the instruction of Jesus (Matt 28:19) Baptism does not save us. But it is one of the first steps of OBEDIENCE. It sets up fertile grown for Growth. YOU HAVE A NEW IDENTITY IN CHRIST IF YOU are not IDENTIFYING yourself IN CHRIST  You wont grow…you will just struggle.             BE WASHED OFF of YOURSELF The baptism tank represents a burial ground of who you thought you were   And who “they” thought you were  it’s a release and it’s a receiving   YOU are MADE ACCEPTABLE IN HIM (Eph 1:6) YOU are MADE RIGHTEOUS IN HIM (2 Cor 5:21) YOU are FREED from CONDEMNATION and the law of sin and death IN HIM (Rom 8:1,2) YOU are NO LONGER ALONE. YOU are now a vital part of other believers and you are IN HIM (Romans 12:5) YOU Triumph/WIN in CHRIST (2 Cor 2:14) YOU are not far from God. What separated you from GOD is GONE in CHRIST ( 2 Cor 3:14) YOU are identified as GOD’s own child IN Christ (Gal 3:26)         YOU HAVE DIVINE PURPOSE-you were CREATED in CHRIST to do GOOD WORKS, His Works (Eph 2:10, John 14:12)   WATER baptism is a physical act that should permanently mark your mind with the reality of your union with Jesus Christ And that is the best GROUND to grow IN. IN HIM is a SECURE place.   Rom 6:1-NIV What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

It is the design of Christianity to recover and invigorate all the lost or weakened sensibility of our nature.) this could apply to maternal or paternal! 5 To be discreet, (self-controlled, using good judgment, curbing desires and impulses)  chaste, (pure in heart and in lifestyle)    keepers at home, (workers, not neglecting home, guardians of the house, managers of home- 1 Tim 5:14, Prov 31, 2 Tim 3:6)    good, (kind)   obedient to their own husbands, (put oneself under) EPH 5:21- Col 3:18,19   that the word of God be not blasphemed. (dishonored, reproach on the gospel)   6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. (moderate, sound minded)   7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, (purity, honesty, genuine)   8 Sound speech, (logos-communication and what’s behind it)  that cannot be condemned; (doesn’t need censoring)   that he that is of the contrary part (antagonistic) may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.   LIVE to teach the gospel SO others will LIVE to teach the gospel THIS is MATURING

Amen. Titus 2:1-NIV You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. (KJV: Speak thou the things which become sound doctrine) 2 Teach the older (aged, mature) men to be temperate (sober, not intoxicated, self-restraint, vigilant) , worthy of respect (grave, honorable), self-controlled, and sound in faith (rooted in sound Biblical doctrine), in love (agape)  and in endurance (patience). (the fruit of ripened experience. A life of faith that has developed patience) Maturity doesn’t excuse itself for what it doesn’t know, maturity desires to seek out and learn.  Where do I need to mature? Where do they need to mature? The truth is, we can complain or we can LEAD.

Part 3 & Review 1/21/24   Review week 1: KNOWLEDGE without APPLICATION is FOOLISH (James 1) R.Renner “Knowledge without application becomes boring and unfulfilling --every time” 1 Peter 2:1-, Heb 5:11-, 1 Cor 3:1-, Maturity: The ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. This includes the ability to control emotions, act responsibly and consider the well-being of oneself and others. The ability to make well informed decisions. Review week 2 carnal or spiritual: Eph 4:10-, 1 Cor 3:1-3, Romans 8:6 Spiritual: non carnal, to live a life guided by the born again spirit. Regenerate (regrow-the ability to regrow new tissue to replace lost or injured tissue. To bring new, more vigorous life to something through something new. Reborn) Carnal: fleshly, un-regenerate, not changed, a life driven by the flesh Make two columns. One labeled Carnal, One labeled spiritual. God through these verses and put the “indicators” of carnal and spiritual into the correct column. Carnal: not growing, tossed (controlled by outward circumstances), easily deceived, imitate the life of unbelievers, unfruitful thinking, darkened understanding, separated Kingdom living, chosen ignorance, hardened heart, lost sensitivity, indulging in impurity, driven by lust, overriding convictions, holds on to old self, refuses strong Word, envy, strife, division, slow to learn, no understanding of righteousness, do not practice the Word they have heard, can’t distinguish good from evil,   Spiritual: growing, anchored in sound doctrine, speaks the truth in love, unity, active in the body of believers, imitates God, productive thinking, sees to be enlightened in the truth, partakers of Zoe life (God kind of life), pliable/teachable heart, sensitive to spirit, overrides the flesh, seeks to hear sound teaching, puts off old self, puts on new self, determined to mature, willing to take strong Word, able to teach (share), has an understanding of righteousness, practice the Word they’ve heard, can distinguish good from evil,           Where Do I Need To GROW UP? Part 3 What am I “MIND”ing? 1/21/24 Eph 5:1 Be followers of God as dear children Eph 5:8-NIV For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." 15 Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.   Rom 8:1-KJV There is therefore now no condemnation (adverse sentence, verdict) to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh (live, occupy oneself with), but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned (judged against) sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh (as a companion or votary), but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind (have their minds set on) the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit (have their minds set on) the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity (in opposition, hostile) against God: for it is not subject (submitted, responsive)  to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (the carnal mind can’t be if you are minding/submitted to the flesh)8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (be agreeable)9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead (powerless) because of sin; but the Spirit is life (zoe) because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (vitalize, make alive) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.   12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (kill) the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.   Walking in the flesh you will see your weaknesses but walking in the spirit you will see His strength The flesh does not like correction or direction Prov 15:31-33 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. 32 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding. 33 The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. Prov 10:17 He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. Prov 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. Prov 13:18 He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored. Prov 15:12 A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise.   Do I know/understand what the WILL OF THE LORD is? then What am I “MINDING”?

    Fruit or Consequence part 2 3/28/2021 susan allen Gal 5:13 kjv For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 1 Peter 1:22-kjv  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.   SPIRIT: The dimension of man which deals with the spiritual realm and knows God and is in contact with Him. SOUL: The dimension of man which deals with the mental realm It is the intellect, emotions, and your will. It is the part that reasons and thinks and chooses.  BODY: The dimension of man which deals with the physical realm and the senses, instincts and urges.   Rom 12:1-kjv  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Prov 4:23-27 kjv 23 Keep (guard) thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. (what you say and hear)25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. (what you see)26 Ponder the path of thy feet (where you allow yourself to go), and let all thy ways be established. (your decisions)27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.     Works of the Flesh (the hard route), the nature of man without the influence of God Hatred: hostility, animosity, can’t get along Variance: mean spirited, so consumed with its own self-interests and ambitions that it would rather split and divide than to give an inch Emulations: moved with envy, resentful, jealous Wrath: boiling with anger, unresolved issues, underlying anger Strife: self-seeking ambition, self-focused ambition bound to hurt and offend people Seditions: stand apart, rebel and step away from someone to whom you should be loyal, disloyalty, defiant Heresies: cliques, exclusiveness, division, faction, divisive unauthorized group, sect (those in the flesh will gravitate to those in flesh) Adultery: Traditionally it means “cheating” on your spouse. Fornication: Greek word Porneia. Sexual activity outside of marriage (Pornos or Porneia= Mental prostitution) Uncleanness: lewd unclean thinking or actions Lasciviousness: undisciplined, unbridled, wild, excessive Idolatry: extreme devotion and service to something one worships other than God Witchcraft: medication, mind altering (pharmakeia) Envying: ill will, spite, desires to deprive another of what is his Murders: slaughter, slay Drunkenness: intoxication Reveling: rioting, carousing, looking for trouble

Parenting in Grace and Faith Happy Mother’s Day 5/14/23 YOU MIGHT HAVE MADE SOME MISTAKES RAISING YOUR KIDS JUST AS Eph 2:8 tells us that by HIS GRACE we are saved (delivered) through faith, WE PARENT by His Grace and are delivered through faith   We cannot afford to let our “parenting regrets” override HIS GRACE in our minds , or we WILL NOT be able to operate in FAITH concerning our children His grace is greater than our mistakes Accept His Grace and let HIM put His INFLUENCE INTO the situation Do not underestimate the power of GOD’S GRACE in your parenting STORY PRAY over your situation, YOUR CHILDREN….NOT IN FEAR, not our of regret BUT IN FAITH THE PRAYER of FAITH is the way we take our FEARS off of our children and place THEM in the hands of God            FEAR based parenting is not beneficial to our kids            REGRET based parenting is not beneficial to our kids FEAR is transferrable by WORDS, but so is FAITH Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing.   BEGIN to SEED the WORD. You do not water the Word with worry or negative words, you water it with praise and you rest in faith expecting a harvest/change Do not let fear in during the process of time     Ps 37:25-NIV I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. 26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed.   Ps 103:17 NIV But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children —   Ps 112:1-NIV Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands.2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.   Ps 115:13-NIV  he will bless those who fear the Lord — small and great alike. 14 May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children. 15 May you be blessed by the Lord,the Maker of heaven and earth.   Ps 113:9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.   Ps 127:3-5 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.   Ps 128:3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. ^ The olive represents peace, fatness, joy, and flourishing prosperity(from Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown)   Ps 147:12-14 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.   Prov 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. Prov 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.   Prov 20:7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.   Prov 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.   Isa 54:13-14 13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.   1 Sam 1:26-28 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.   Prov 22  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.   Prov 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.   Prov 23:13-14 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.   Prov 23:24-25 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.   Prov 29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul   Prov 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.   Deut 28:11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. *Father I thank you for the children you have blessed me with. They hunger and thirst after righteousness. They seek you and find you. They love you with their whole heart, mind and soul. Anything that tries to come between you is removed from their lives. I have taught them of you and your ways and they will never depart from it. My children bring me joy and not sorrow. They rise up and call me blessed. I have lent them to you for your service- they have found their place in you. You have placed Godly friendships and relationships in their life-they desire none else. Your Holy Spirit resides on the inside of them, working constantly on their behalf-showing them things, warning them and leading them in the path of righteousness. Satan cannot in anyway have my children-they have been yours since the day of conception-they will never serve another. I have taught them of you therefore they have great peace. You have created in them a clean heart-set apart for your service. I will not fear. I will not be moved by what I see. I put my trust in you. I rest now in your Words to me concerning my children and I consider it done from this day forward-I will not pick up this care again-But I will praise you for what you are doing in their lives and what they are doing for you. The end result is what you have promised.

    Parenting in Grace and Faith Happy Mother’s Day 5/14/23 YOU MIGHT HAVE MADE SOME MISTAKES RAISING YOUR KIDS JUST AS Eph 2:8 tells us that by HIS GRACE we are saved (delivered) through faith, WE PARENT by His Grace and are delivered through faith   We cannot afford to let our “parenting regrets” override HIS GRACE in our minds , or we WILL NOT be able to operate in FAITH concerning our children His grace is greater than our mistakes Accept His Grace and let HIM put His INFLUENCE INTO the situation Do not underestimate the power of GOD’S GRACE in your parenting STORY PRAY over your situation, YOUR CHILDREN….NOT IN FEAR, not our of regret BUT IN FAITH THE PRAYER of FAITH is the way we take our FEARS off of our children and place THEM in the hands of God            FEAR based parenting is not beneficial to our kids            REGRET based parenting is not beneficial to our kids FEAR is transferrable by WORDS, but so is FAITH Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing.   BEGIN to SEED the WORD. You do not water the Word with worry or negative words, you water it with praise and you rest in faith expecting a harvest/change Do not let fear in during the process of time     Ps 37:25-NIV I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. 26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed.   Ps 103:17 NIV But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children —   Ps 112:1-NIV Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands.2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.   Ps 115:13-NIV  he will bless those who fear the Lord — small and great alike. 14 May the Lord make you increase, both you and your children. 15 May you be blessed by the Lord,the Maker of heaven and earth.   Ps 113:9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. They hunger and thirst after righteousness. They seek you and find you. They love you with their whole heart, mind and soul. Anything that tries to come between you is removed from their lives. I have taught them of you and your ways and they will never depart from it. My children bring me joy and not sorrow. They rise up and call me blessed. I have lent them to you for your service- they have found their place in you. You have placed Godly friendships and relationships in their life-they desire none else. Your Holy Spirit resides on the inside of them, working constantly on their behalf-showing them things, warning them and leading them in the path of righteousness. Satan cannot in anyway have my children-they have been yours since the day of conception-they will never serve another. I have taught them of you therefore they have great peace. You have created in them a clean heart-set apart for your service. I will not fear. I will not be moved by what I see. I put my trust in you. I rest now in your Words to me concerning my children and I consider it done from this day forward-I will not pick up this care again-But I will praise you for what you are doing in their lives and what they are doing for you. The end result is what you have promised.

    HOMEGROWN 5/7/23 RCC FAMILY DAY  Deut 6:5 NKJV (page 211   see the green 6  then small numbers in the sentences find little number 5)  5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently (intensely, pierce) to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Sow the Word into your family by what they see,  what they hear, what is said, and all along the “way” in their actions and your actions in daily life. A good godly life does not come from outside things…the best is HOMEGROWN You ARE growing something at home and the fruit will show you if you need to sow differently. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE the POWER OF your HOME ENVIRONMENT THIS takes time and effort. MAKE time. The harvest is worth it. Eph 5:15,16 speaks of not being foolish but making the MOST of EVERY OPPORTUNITY because the days are evil/hurtful/fierce  (page 1399 look for the small numbers 15,16) IF we want a good life…there are seeds we should pick to sow Not literally in the grown, but in the choices that we make When we mess up and plant (do) the wrong thing we dig that seed up by asking for forgiveness and by forgiving each other A peaceful, good, and godly home doesn’t just happen…It’s homegrown. We need to start sowing for it today and giving it our time and attention.  Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. That’s exactly what Christ does for his church! 30He serves and satisfies us  as members of his body.31For this reason a man is to leave his father and his mother and lovingly hold to his wife, since the two have become joined as one flesh.  32Marriage is the beautiful design of the Almighty,  a great mystery  of Christ and his church. 33So every married man should be gracious to his wife just as he is gracious to himself. Men will be self-focused, self-centered, self-absorbed, self-consumed, and in love with themselves more than anyone else. As a result of this self-love, they will be driven to obtain more and more and more. In fact, every imaginable type of covenant will be regularly violated, and the court system will be overwhelmed as people go overboard, suing and being sued. People will generally lose the ability to say no and will be unable to control their instincts in nearly every area of life. People will become savage, and it will eventually feel like there are no laws to protect the innocent.  People will find it easy to walk away from commitments and to easily throw away relationships. They will become reckless, impulsive, and known for their enjoyment of violence. They will become full of pride and inflated with a sense of their own self-importance—to the extent that it may end up feeling like society is being hit by a typhoon; however, those menacing winds of change will eventually blow out like a storm that comes and goes. Meanwhile, people will become fixated on the unobtainable pursuit of happiness and pleasure even more than they love God. Although they may possess an outward form of religiosity, they will rebuff, refute, refuse, and reject the authentic power that goes along with genuine godliness. I urgently tell you to mentally, spiritually, and physically turn away and remove yourselves from such people. These sorts of people project themselves as “help” with the intention of gaining access into people’s homes to manipulate them—especially targeting some sincere women who feel overwhelmed by frustrations and disappointing failures in life whom the manipulators find easier to influence because they have so many unmet longings. These women are endlessly doing their very best to gain insight needed to help them navigate life, but they are perpetually unable to come to right conclusions based on truth.
