GROWING in STRENGTH 3/10/24 susan allen   RESILIENCE- the ability to withstand or recover quickly from difficult situations, toughness   Mark 4:14 kjv  The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction (trouble/pressure) or persecution (persistent annoyance)  ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.   QUICK to receive but also QUICK to QUIT. we default back to our own capabilities of handling things We need to PRACTICE being dependent on GOD   Eph 1:17-AMP  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness  (beyond the usual mark) of His power (Dunamis-miraculous power)  in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, 20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places]   2 Cor 12:7 KJV And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.9 And he said unto me, My grace (charis-influence, benefit, favor)  is sufficient for thee: for my strength (dunamis-miraculous power, ability) is made perfect (accomplished) in weakness. (feebleness of body/mind) Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power (dunamis)  of Christ may rest (abide, tent upon) upon me.10 Therefore I take pleasure (to think well of) in infirmities, in reproaches (insult, injury) , in necessities (needs), in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.(powerful, capable)   Eph 3:12 NIVIn him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory. 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen (empower) you with power (dunamis) through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power (dunamis) that is at work (is active) within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.   Rom 1:16-1716 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power (dunamis) of God unto salvation (soteria-rescue, deliverance, redemption from earthly ills)  to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.   Eph 6

    GROWING In Faith 2/25/24 susan allen   Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11 and Heb 10:38 THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH Faith-(pistis) assurance, firm persuasion, reliance, belief, trust, confidence, constancy in profession  “Triangle of the end” by Charles Capps “As you approach the triangle of the end, time shall grow faster and closer, faster and closer” “There was a time when you could be off from the center line at the top of the triangle and still be inside the triangle of light. But, as you approach the triangle of the end, you must move to the center line” “I could see that those who were to one side of the center line, at the bottom end of the triangle would be outside the triangle of light” “Both the time allotted, and prophetic events are being compressed to maximum density to fulfill the prophetic scriptures of the ages. Time is reacting much the same as liquid flowing through a funnel, being drawn into the narrow end”   FAITH is not a parachute that we pull a cord on when the plane is coming down…….The JUST LIVE BY IT. HOW DO WE GET IT?  HOW DO WE DEVELOP and GROW FAITH?   Rom 10:13-KJV  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith comes by hearing not seeing, And it comes by hearing not having heard. Present tense hearing. Present tense WORD=present tense faith HEARING requires an ABIDING RELATIONSHIP John 15 says “If you abide in me and my WORDS abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you”   Romans 10:17 in the susan allen version: So then faith, assurance, firm persuasion, reliance, belief, trust, confidence, Constancy in profession- Comes by hearing the living voice, and hearing the living voice by the Word of God Word of God- RHEMA Thayer’s: that which is or has been uttered by the living voice. Vines: what is uttered in speech or writing   Faith is sent from God to you through ONE conduit HIS LIVING VOICE To what degree do we want to LIVE (zoe life)?   You CAN understand the Bible--Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Prov 2:1-7, Prov 4:5, Ps 119:104, John 16:13, James 1;5, John 14:26, 1 Cor 2:13, Eph 1:17,18)

    Where Do I Need To GROW UP? Part 7 Baptism- Fertile Ground for Growth 2/18/24 Verses used parts 1-5::1 Peter 2:1-5, Rom 12:1-3, Heb 5:11-14, Heb 6:1-3, 1 Cor 3:1-4, Eph 4:7-24, Romans 8:1-14, Eph 5:8-17, Prov 10:17,12:1, 13:18,15:31-33, 1 Cor 13:9, Ps 40:8, Romans 10:14-17, James 1:22, Col 1:24-chp2:6, Matt 28:18-20, Titus 2:1-8   Titus 3:3-ESV  For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.    * washing ^immersion, bath, laver, water basin,    **regeneration^ new birth, into new life   We get baptized per the instruction of Jesus (Matt 28:19) Baptism does not save us. But it is one of the first steps of OBEDIENCE. It sets up fertile grown for Growth. YOU HAVE A NEW IDENTITY IN CHRIST IF YOU are not IDENTIFYING yourself IN CHRIST  You wont grow…you will just struggle.             BE WASHED OFF of YOURSELF The baptism tank represents a burial ground of who you thought you were   And who “they” thought you were  it’s a release and it’s a receiving   YOU are MADE ACCEPTABLE IN HIM (Eph 1:6) YOU are MADE RIGHTEOUS IN HIM (2 Cor 5:21) YOU are FREED from CONDEMNATION and the law of sin and death IN HIM (Rom 8:1,2) YOU are NO LONGER ALONE. YOU are now a vital part of other believers and you are IN HIM (Romans 12:5) YOU Triumph/WIN in CHRIST (2 Cor 2:14) YOU are not far from God. What separated you from GOD is GONE in CHRIST ( 2 Cor 3:14) YOU are identified as GOD’s own child IN Christ (Gal 3:26)         YOU HAVE DIVINE PURPOSE-you were CREATED in CHRIST to do GOOD WORKS, His Works (Eph 2:10, John 14:12)   WATER baptism is a physical act that should permanently mark your mind with the reality of your union with Jesus Christ And that is the best GROUND to grow IN. IN HIM is a SECURE place.   Rom 6:1-NIV What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
