Flourishing Mark Evants Notes, Sunday, 10/13/24   Jer.17:5-8: Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs [heb turns aside] from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Psalm 112:1-9: Praise[a] the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness [b]endures forever.  Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His [c]horn will be exalted with honor.

  Psalm 92:12ff: The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. [2 of the big image symbols – or BILLBOARDS – of flourishing used in OT]  13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be [c]fresh and [d]flourishing, [Full of oil or sap, lit. fat15 To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

In His days the righteous shall flourish, And abundance of peace, Until the moon is no more.   Declare This Out Loud by Faith: My life is flourishing. My family is flourishing. My health is flourishing. My business is flourishing. My finances are flourishing. My church is flourishing. I am increasing in wealth, favor and honor. I am growing vigorously and exuberantly. I am enlarging, expanding and becoming extremely successful. I flourish. I prosper. I thrive in tough times.

    HOLD YOUR PEACE 10/6/24 susan allen Acts 7:54-NIV When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57 At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, 58 dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.   The revelation of Jesus Christ was greater than what was happening around him and even greater than what was happening to him.   Phil 4:5B NIV The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard (kjv- KEEP- to be a watcher in advance)  your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me — put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.   —this is not your peace based on your circumstances or ability       This is the peace of GOD based on HIS circumstances & ability   John 14:26-KJV  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. AMP: 27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]   HOW ON EARTH? There is no peace in you until you are at peace with God Rom 5:1-NIV  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.   Grow in peace by renewing your mind/thinking (Rom 12) study Phil 4:8 think on these things   LET that PEACE RULE! Col 3:15 AMP And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) (arbitrate, govern, prevail) * in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].                             Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow (pursue) after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.   2 Peter 1:2- AMP May grace (God's favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).
