(feebleness of body/mind) Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power (dunamis) of Christ may rest (abide, tent upon) upon me.10 Therefore I take pleasure (to think well of) in infirmities, in reproaches (insult, injury) , in necessities (needs), in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.(powerful, capable) Eph 3:12 NIVIn him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory. 14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen (empower) you with power (dunamis) through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power (dunamis) that is at work (is active) within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith comes by hearing not seeing, And it comes by hearing not having heard. Present tense hearing. Present tense WORD=present tense faith HEARING requires an ABIDING RELATIONSHIP John 15 says “If you abide in me and my WORDS abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you” Romans 10:17 in the susan allen version: So then faith, assurance, firm persuasion, reliance, belief, trust, confidence, Constancy in profession- Comes by hearing the living voice, and hearing the living voice by the Word of God Word of God- RHEMA Thayer’s: that which is or has been uttered by the living voice. Vines: what is uttered in speech or writing Faith is sent from God to you through ONE conduit HIS LIVING VOICE To what degree do we want to LIVE (zoe life)? You CAN understand the Bible--Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Prov 2:1-7, Prov 4:5, Ps 119:104, John 16:13, James 1;5, John 14:26, 1 Cor 2:13, Eph 1:17,18)
