Heb 11:7 AMP [Prompted] by faith Noah, being forewarned by God concerning events of which as yet there was no visible sign, took heed and diligently and reverently constructed and prepared an ark for the deliverance of his own family. THERE IS NOT A SEASON IN LIFE that GOD has not MADE a PLAN of PROVISION for.

When God gives warning IT IS FOR PREPARATION not for fear.

HE has anointed/given everything needed to be right here right NOW.

You emphatically and categorically need to know with unquestionable certainty that in the very end of days—when time has sailed to its last port and no more time remains for the journey—that last season will stand in the midst of uncontrollable, unpredictable, hurtful, treacherous, menacing times that will be emotionally difficult for people to bear.

  1. Men will be self-focused, self-centered, self-absorbed, self-consumed, and in love with themselves more than anyone else.

IF I SEE GOD as the “I AM” then I realize “I AM NOT”

Prov 3:6-7 AMP  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.

Deut 6:4- KJV  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, 11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

 

Where have I crossed the line into self-centeredness? Marriage, career, kids, self-centered religion/church?

 

As a result of this self-love, they will be driven to obtain more and more and more.

Kjv COVETOUS- love of money, never satisfied, consumed with their own comforts

DO we know how to be satisfied? Do our kids?

Phil 4:10-NIV I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

CAN I GIVE as freely as I receive? Can my children GIVE?

Luke 12:27-NIV  “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. 32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Follow your money trail and you will find your heart.

These boasters are so committed to their own agenda that they are willing to exaggerate, overstate the facts, stretch the truth, embellish a story, and even lie if it will get them the position, advantage, or goal they desire.

BOASTERS- exaggerating for their own advancement

DO I PROMOTE MYSELF? DO I PROMOTE MY KIDS? How do I seek advancement?

1 Peter 5:5 kjv Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,”God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Don’t BOAST—-LET GOD’S FAVOR do ITS WORK

Boasting is manipulative distorted favor

 

They are arrogant, haughty, impudent, snooty, and insolent.

Kjv PROUD- superior, have intellectual advantage

Prov 6  one of the 7 things God hates

 

Do I feel the need to prove I am right? How far will I go to prove my point? When we tell our children we are proud of them, what are we PROUD OF?

We can build confidence without building pride.

Pride has a habit of comparison with other people and putting other down to raise ourselves up.

2 Cor 10:12-NIV We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. 13 We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us, a field that reaches even to you.

What am I doing this for? Col 3:23 tell us whatever we do, do it with all of your heart and do it for the LORD
