Followed 6/18/23 susan allen HAPPY FATHER’S DAY 1 Cor 4:14-NIV I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children. 15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me. 17 For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.   Note there is a difference between guardians/teachers and fathers Our parenting needs to be relational not just instructional Imitate- mimic, follow You just do things differently when you are being followed.   Gen 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him,(that’s a following)  and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.   One of the most beautiful gifts you give those following you is transparency   1 Sam 13:14 NIV But now your kingdom will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord's command." Prov 20:7 AMP The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed (happy, fortunate, enviable) are his children after him. Permissive parenting doesn’t work Ex: Eli, Samuel, David
