Faith doesn’t say what is seen with our eyes
FAITH SAYS WHAT GOD SEES (I say what God sees)
Gen 1:26-ESV Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
He did not just create them—but after creating them He BLESSED THEM
God’s Words spoken to them directed them -empowered them-Words are permissive and tell them His expectation “oh this is who we are and what we are to do”
We see “God’s blessing” spoken INTO PEOPLE throughout scripture
Gen 9 God BLESSED Noah and His sons Gen 12 to Abram/Abraham
In Gen we also start seeing people BLESSING people by speaking into their lives Father’s blessing their children (ex: Gen 27)
Num 6:22 ESV The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,24 The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. 27 “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”
WORDS LEAVE A MARK on MINDS
The Words that we speak can even be generational—in fact they are meant to be
The words spoken in the blessing to Adam and Eve still affect us and direct us
The words spoken in the blessing to Abram were said to effect and direct us (Gal 3:13- Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. kjv)
Though correction must be done, we must learn to word it strategically
“You are lazy’ is directional, empowering, permissive and expectant of laziness –or—“I believe you can do better getting your chores done”
if you have been marked by negative words study Num 23
Num 23:18-ESV “Rise, Balak, and hear; give ear to me, O son of Zippor:19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? 20 Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.
Mark 10:13-ESV And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16 And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
NT:21271. eulogeo (<START GREEK>eu)loge/w<END GREEK>, NT:2127), lit., “to speak well of” (eu, “well,” logos, “a word”), signifies, (a) “to praise, to celebrate with praises,” of that which is addressed to God, acknowledging His goodness, with desire for His glory, Luke 1:64; 2:28; 24:51,53; James 3:9; (b) “to invoke blessings upon a person,” e. g., Luke 6:28; Rom 12:14. The present participle passive, “blessed, praised,” is especially used of Christ in Matt 21:9; 23:39, and the parallel passages; also in John 12:13; (c) “to consecrate a thing with solemn prayers, to ask God’s blessing on a thing,” e. g., Luke 9:16; 1 Cor 10:16; (d) “to cause to prosper, to make happy, to bestow blessings on,” said of God, e. g., in Acts 3:26; Gal 3:9; Eph 1:3.
