Don’t Settle Outside of the Promise

9/27/26 Susan Allen

Ps 103:1-KJV Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: (forget not: don’t be oblivious of, don’t mislay, or neglect to give attention to) (all His Benefits: acts of service, dealings, recompense, reward) 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

—— “Many are being tempted to settle outside of the Promise land”

Exodus 1 a new King rises over Egypt who is afraid of the Children of Israel.  this new Pharoah makes God’s people slaves and puts them under harsh affliction . THEY are God’s people. They have covenant with God. But they are enslaved and living in affliction.

God calls Moses to bring them out and into the Land of Promise

Ex 5 Moses and Aaron “LET MY PEOPLE GO”

– even once freedom came and Moses led them OUT—they had to fight not to go back to it

they complain and FORGET ALL HIS BENEFITS

staying where you are IS EASIER in EFFORT but IT IS NOT a better LIFE.

NEVER settle for anything THAT IS NOT the health that GOD promised you

Do not get comfortable with sickness and weakness

CONTINUE to RESIST IT. CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD. Keep the PROMISED LAND/God’s promises IN your MIND.

2 ½ tribes settled this side of the Jordan and didn’t enter in. (Numbers 32)

Num 33:50-ESV And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, 51 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places. 53 And you shall take possession of the land (shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell therein) and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess (occupy and seize)  it.

Numbers 34 YOU HAVE TO KNOW what is yours or you will certainly settle.

Josh 1:1 KJV- Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it.

GOD GIVES THE TERRITORY, but WE TAKE POSSESSION of IT.

Do the next passages describe the health you dwell in or do you need to drive out some enemies to your health and take back some God given territory? Remember, don’t settle outside of the Promise
